Co-presented with Destroyed Underground Film Festival

Q&A with director Louise Weard

Castration Movie is a multi-part postmodern epic from visionary auteur Louise Weard. In Chapter iii. Junior Ghosts—Premorphic Drift, Izzy (Avalon Fast) seeks out everything in her power to stop her partner (Henri Gillespi) from transitioning. The latest chapter in Weard’s ambitious project, Castration continues a body of work that has been praised for challenging conventional ideas about representation, form, and what a movie can be. Winner of the 2025 Frameline Audience Award.
