The Barbarian believes he has only a few erections left before death. Condemned to a life in a thrift store and haunted by a family tragedy, he sets his sights on Marie, an alcoholic special-education teacher. If he has to go, he figures, he might as well do it in good company.
Written and directed by Olivier Godin, Don’t Forget the Oatmeal is a children’s movie for adults, blending adventure, bawdy humour, kung fu, drawings of erect penises, and the surreal sensibility of a filmmaker whose work gleefully mixes tones, genres, and contradictions. The film premiered at Semaine de la Critique de Montréal and has screened at festivals including Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma, Chattanooga Film Festival, and FID Marseille.
DUFF (Destroyed Underground Film Festival) is underground cinema for underground people. A showcase of the best of contemporary, underground cinema. The bold, the brave, the unconventional and underrepresented voices that keep this artform moving forward.
