When she lost her sister to cancer, Jennifer Abbott's sorrow opened her up to the profound gravity of climate breakdown. The Magnitude of All Things merges stories from the frontlines of climate change with recollections from the filmmaker’s childhood on Ontario’s Georgian Bay. What do these stories have in common? The answer, surprisingly, is everything.
For the people featured, climate change is not happening in the distant future: it is kicking down the front door. Battles waged, lamentations of loss, and raw testimony coalesce into an extraordinary tapestry, woven together with raw emotion and staggering beauty that transform darkness into light, grief into action.
Extinction Rebellion Vancouver Island is sponsoring this screening. The movie takes the abstractions of climate change science and places it squarely in personal emotional space, where we believe people find the resolve to confront the truth about the Ecological emergency, and can choose to join in committed action for ourselves and all future generations.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion involving Jennifer Abbot, Dr. Peter Carter - an expert reviewer for the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and also a member of Extinction Rebellion, and various others involved in the movement to address the rapidly unfolding Ecological Crisis.

Tickets can be purchased at the Cinecenta box office, which opens 40 minutes before the show.

Students and Seniors: $10

General Public: $12

Please note, Cinecenta comps and 10 passes will not be accepted for this screening.
