According to the official logline, Materialists follows “a young, ambitious New York City matchmaker” who “finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex.” The trailer shows Lucy (Johnson), a matchmaker who promises her clients that they will “marry the love of your life.” After celebrating the ninth client marriage of her career, Lucy bumps into the man of her dreams (Pascal) and her ex-boyfriend (Evans) on the same night.
